The day of marriage is the day of sharing a life time eternal bond. Fragrance of the day since the ring ceremony does not let the future bride and groom to sleep. All of a sudden dreams filled wide open eyes change the world of the girl and the boy. Both express their excitement in different ways, where the boy expresses it by looking for all possible honeymoon destinations and the girl gets over conscious about her looks and all the ceremonies. Their heart beats resonate but the way of expression lies in the genes. The childhood dream of the girl of her Mr. Right coming to her riding a white horse and that of a boy unveiling his bride on the bed of roses is suddenly going to become reality. In today’s scenario after the marriage is fixed the boy and the girl has permission of their family to talk on phone for better understanding. So what is about Hindu marriages that have managed to capture the interest of the whole world? Well, there are many things that are unique about Hindu marriages in India; the aplomb and fanfare that surround a typical Hindu marriage are just phenomenal, together with the colorful and glitzy marriage attires of the groom, bride and the guests.

Importance of Colors:


It would not be wrong to say that typical Hindu marriages are an extravaganza of colors, where the red color dominates above all. There would be no need to celebrate this significance of the red color in an auspicious ceremony like a wedding. Traditional Hindu brides wear red color as it is said to the color of sindoor. It signifies passion too. Also associated with the Goddess Shakti, it is said to drive away evil and therefore its liberal use on an auspicious occasion like marriage. Other than red, there are many other colors that play an integral role in a Hindu marriage setting. Saffron is another color that dominates in a Hindu wedding. You can notice into any wedding venue where a traditional Hindu wedding is scheduled to happen, you will surely know the liberal use of saffron colors marigold garlands for decoration. These signify loyalty and are again considered auspicious. Saffron color also denotes purity. Another color that dominates the Indian marriage setting is gold. On the day of wedding the bride and the groom wear a lot of gold ornaments, without which Indian marriage is considered to be incomplete the golden color rules of this auspicious occasion.



No doubt, Indian marriages are an extravaganza of pomp and show. However, underneath these marriages, there lies a set of sacred customs and colors. Hindu marriage is an elaborate ceremony that contains numerous rites and rituals, but these colors are the most important of them all. Hindu marriages are indeed replete with myriad colors and all these colors have their own meanings and essence. The use of these rich colors make this auspicious occasion even more bright and beautiful.
